Psychotherapists

APEX has been representing psychotherapist members within former DHBs and now Te Whatu Ora since 2018.

Initially, APEX negotiated separate single employer collective agreements (SECAs) for psychotherapists with Auckland and Waitemata DHBs.

Following the 2020 bargaining round, these SECAs were consolidated into one multi-employer collective agreement (MECA) and members achieved individual continuing professional development (CPD) entitlements of $1,500 per annum (accumulable to $3,000).

In the 2024 bargaining round, coverage was extended to Tairāwhiti.

As well as improving terms and conditions through collective bargaining, APEX assists psychotherapist members with all aspects of their employment, including individual employment issues and restructuring.
