Pay Equity Settlement Agreed For Allied Health Workers In Te Whatu Ora – 2 October 2023

Agreement on salary increases to address historical sex-based undervaluation of allied scientific and technical health practitioners has been made between APEX, PSA & Te Whatu Ora. The proposed settlement would result in allied, scientific, and technical health practitioners across Te Whatu Ora receiving a wide range of pay adjustments from 0 - 40%.

Collective bargaining negotiations between APEX and Awanui, the largest private laboratory provider in the country, have come to a standstill over the principal issue of pay. This Wednesday, the 20th of September there will be a full 24-hour withdrawal of labor by APEX members at all South Island, Wellington region and Hawkes Bay Awanui Laboratories.
